So, I’ve decided that Fridays should be ‘Fess up Day’ from now on. I think I’ll use the day as a weekly cleanse for those things I’ve wanted to say to the world all week but were too frightened to voice. Fridays are supposed to be fun, you can be a little naughty on a Friday. Fridays used to be ‘pash night’ (but no more as the lovely Mr Lotus is around). It’s ‘Fess up Friday! Yes folks time to reveal, relax and release that niggling something that’s been eating at you all week, that something you want to say but are not sure to whom. For me it’s been two things:
The media. For F*^K’ s sake Media get a grip… the cyclone was not as bad as expected. We all woke up on Thursday morning, expecting to see a changed world cause you told us things would never be the same, we wanted to see the devastion and cry for those poor people. And you, what did you give us? You gave us the same piece of iron flying through the air and hitting a street sign, over and over and we’d already seen it at 7.00pm the previous night. You gave us wet reporters, wearing matching jackets, perched on balconies, in the streets and ‘sheltering’ in alleyways. How stupid do you think we are? Yes it was a cyclone, but thankfully, it did not hit as badly as expected, caused damage but not too much, no lives were lost and in the end it was okay. Buy you, you guys just needed to keep up the hysterics cause you spent all your money sending crews to Far North Queensland, putting them up on hotels, having live crosses to wet people with your logos!
Really, you over reacted and didn’t know how to back down quietly cause you were trapped there, on live television with super fantastic cyclone thingy-wackers in the background! On show to the entire world and we knew, we knew you were just stringing the words together and wondering which wet bit to show next. (BTW where do all the cyclone experts go when there is nothing to talk about?). It was like reliving an argument with a 16 year old when she is already in her room and has no where else to go… you just should have stopped while you were ahead, before you started blathering things you really don’t need to say, may have to correct (huh, 18metre wave my ar*e!).
Fess up media, you over reacted. And that my friends, is my Fess up Friday for this week.
Oh and Work .. Why does work in February seem so much harder? But hey, I feel better already! Just putting my time into Fess Up Friday has helped!
